Valley faced Northwest in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Tigers fell just short of the Wolves by a score of 2-1. The Tigers' loss signaled the end of their seven-game winning streak.

Valley saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mera Hart, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 17-7. As for Northwest, the win (which was their 16th in a row) raised their record to 19-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Valley will square off against Central Lee on Friday. As for Northwest, they will challenge Waukee on Friday.
