Centennial has gone 8-1-1 against Mayfield recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Hawks will be playing in front of their home fans against the Trojans at 5:00 p.m. Centennial's last three matches have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

While Centennial's victory against Alamogordo wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Hawks beat the Tigers by a goal, winning 2-1. Given Centennial's advantage in MaxPreps' New Mexico soccer rankings (they are ranked 19th, while Alamogordo are ranked 60th) , the result on Thursday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Andres Cardenas and Tyler Ward scored both of Centennial's goals, bringing their combined season tally to eight goals.

Meanwhile, Mayfield's matchup on Thursday was close up to the half, but then they kicked things up a notch. Their defense stepped up to hand Las Cruces a 3-0 shutout. Mayfield might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by three goals or more this season.

Mayfield is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-3-1 record this season. As for Centennial, their win bumped their record up to 10-4-2.
