Baseball Recap: Lakeside Takes a Loss

Lakeside lost against Dunwoody last Monday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Lakeside Vikings fell just short of the Dunwoody Wildcats by a score of 3-2. The Vikings have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Aidan Conrad was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Jihad Guy made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole Two bases. while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Micah Von was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

Lakeside's loss dropped their record down to 10-5. As for Dunwoody, the win was the 16th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 16-1.

While Lakeside had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
