Soccer Recap: San Marcos Wins Going Away Against Garden Grove

With a playoff win on the line, San Marcos rose to the challenge on Wednesday. Everything went their way against the Garden Grove Argonauts as they made off with a 5-0 victory. The score was close at the half, but the Royals pulled away in the second half with four goals.

They hit Garden Grove with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Zeina Matni (2), Kate Selby (2), and Rio Chesluk.

San Marcos is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. As for Garden Grove, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-4.

Looking ahead, San Marcos will square off against Sage Hill at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Garden Grove does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
