Recap: Lower Moreland Lions vs. Springfield Township Spartans

The Lower Moreland Lions scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. The stars were shining brightly for them in a 76-59 win over Springfield Township. The victory was all the more spectacular given Lower Moreland's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 235th, while Springfield Township is ranked 90th).

Lower Moreland's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Briana Mcferran, who scored 22 points along with six rebounds and four steals. Those 22 points set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Sydney Santora, who scored 12 points along with nine rebounds and six steals.

The win was the fourth in a row for Lower Moreland, bringing their record for this year to 5-3. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.3 points per game. As for Springfield Township, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lower Moreland will be home for the holidays to greet Quakertown at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Springfield Township, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Upper Dublin at 7:00 p.m. on December 21st. Upper Dublin's defense has only allowed 25 points per game this season, so Springfield Township's offense will have their work cut out for Springfield Township.
