Softball Game Preview: Forest Park Panthers vs. Salem Seminoles

The Forest Park Panthers will head out to challenge the Salem Seminoles at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Forest Park will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last.

Having struggled with four defeats in a row, Forest Park turned things around against Mays on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Raiders with a sharp 27-16 win. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by eight runs or more this season.

Ninette Watkins was a standout: she got on base in all five of her plate appearances with four stolen bases, five runs, and five RBI. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in doubles (two). Another player making a difference was Alivia Cade, who went 3-for-5 with five stolen bases, four runs, and one triple.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Salem's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They came up short against Heritage, falling 16-7.

Forest Park's victory bumped their record up to 8-9. As for Salem, their loss dropped their record down to 5-13.

Forest Park couldn't quite get it done against Salem in their previous meeting last Monday as they fell 18-15. Can the Panthers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
