Baseball Recap: Osakis Takes a Loss

Osakis was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 23-4 to the Pierz Pioneers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Silverstreaks of the 13-6 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Carter Johnstone was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. That home run was his first of the season.

Osakis' defeat dropped their record down to 3-14. As for Pierz, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 9-5.

Looking ahead, Osakis will take on Royalton at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Pierz, they will challenge Holdingford at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Pioneers 4, the Huskers 4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
