Softball Recap: Fort Collins Find Success

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Harris County, Fort Collins was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They came out on top against the Grand Junction Central Warriors by a score of 6-2. For the Lambkins, this counts as revenge for the 9-1 win the Warriors walked away with the last time they faced one another back in August of 2022.

Addison Yurt made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off five hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ava Apodaca, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Aspen Fogo was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
