Preview: Palm Springs Indians vs. Shadow Hills Knights
Palm Springs is 1-9 against Shadow Hills since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Palm Springs Indians will be home for the holidays to greet the Shadow Hills Knights at 6:30 p.m. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Palm Springs scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They really took it to Rancho Mirage for the full four quarters, racking up a 52-4 win on the road. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Palm Springs has managed all season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Palm Springs to victory, but perhaps none more so than Naomi Bote, who scored seven points along with eight steals. Bote is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Miley Flores, who scored nine points.
Meanwhile, Shadow Hills entered their tilt with La Quinta with eight consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with nine. Shadow Hills claimed a resounding 53-22 win over La Quinta on the road. Shadow Hills might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won three games by 31 points or more this season.
Palm Springs' win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-7. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 33 points. As for Shadow Hills, their win bumped their record up to 9-1.
Palm Springs took a serious blow against Shadow Hills when the teams last played back in January, falling 49-20. The matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Palm Springs was down 27-2.
