Basketball Game Preview: New Roads Jaguars vs. Geffen Academy Bruins

New Roads hasn't had much luck against Geffen Academy recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The New Roads Jaguars will host the Geffen Academy Bruins at 3:00 p.m.

Last Friday, New Roads took a blow against Vistamar, falling 44-15. The Jaguars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Geffen Academy put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. Everything went their way against California Academy of Math & Science as Geffen Academy made off with a 60-40 win. The Bruins have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matches by 20 points or more this season.

Geffen Academy pushed their record up to 7-0 with the victory, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for New Roads, their loss dropped their record down to 4-6.

New Roads came up short against Geffen Academy in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, falling 46-35. Can New Roads avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
