Sierra won the last time they faced Oakdale and things went their way on Thursday too. The Sierra Timberwolves blew past the Oakdale Mustangs 53-13. The Timberwolves pushed the score to 38-12 by the end of the third, a deficit the Mustangs had little chance of recovering from.

Sierra's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Janessa Barnes led the charge by putting up eight points in addition to 11 rebounds and five steals. Barnes is becoming a predictor of Sierra's success: when she posts at least five steals the team is 3-1 (and 6-12 when she doesn't). Emalina Latu was another key player, scoring six points along with six boards and four steals.

Sierra smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in nine consecutive games.

Sierra's win bumped their record up to 9-13. As for Oakdale, their defeat was their seventh straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 9-17.

Looking ahead, Sierra will look to defend their home court on February 13th against Central Catholic at 7:30 p.m. As for Oakdale, they are taking a road trip to face off against Patterson at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
