Soccer Game Preview: Springfield vs. Southview

The Springfield Blue Devils will head out to challenge the Southview Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Springfield sitting on six straight victories and Southview on nine.

Springfield is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They never let Memorial get on the board and left with a 4-0 win. Considering Springfield have won 13 matchups by more than two goals this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Kyle Mortus and Will Browning scored all four of Springfield's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 64 goals.

Meanwhile, Southview earned a 2-0 victory over Madison Comprehensive on Thursday. Southview's defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last four contests.

Springfield's win bumped their record up to 17-1-1. As for Southview, their victory bumped their record up to 16-2-1.

Springfield suffered a grim 4-0 defeat to Southview in their previous meeting back in September. Can the Blue Devils avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
