Softball Game Preview: White County Warriors vs. Commerce Tigers

White County has gone a perfect 3-0 against Commerce recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Warriors will venture away from home to take on the Tigers at 5:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Wednesday, White County didn't have quite enough to beat Lumpkin County and fell 3-2. The Warriors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Commerce came up short against Hart County on Wednesday and fell 7-4. The Tigers have struggled against the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Addy Grace Martin put in work no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over 4.2 innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run. That stolen base marked the first that she has snagged this season.

In other batting news, Brooklyn Nunley made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one double. That double was her first of the season.

White County now has a losing record of 12-13. As for Commerce, their record is now 9-15.

White County took their win against Commerce in their previous matchup back in September of 2023 by a conclusive 19-5 score. Do the Warriors have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Tigers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
