Basketball Game Preview: Triton Central Tigers vs. Heritage Christian Eagles

The Triton Central Tigers will challenge the Heritage Christian Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Thursday, everything went Triton Central's way against Beech Grove as Triton Central made off with a 52-31 win. The Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine games by 21 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Heritage Christian had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 21.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They enjoyed a cozy 50-33 victory over the Huskies.

Heritage Christian's win came from a few key players Triton Central will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Emma Gast, who posted four points along with nine steals and five boards. Those nine steals gave her a new career-high. Joslyn Marshall was another key player, putting up ten points and five steals.

Triton Central is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 15 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.2 points per game. As for Heritage Christian, their win bumped their record up to 10-12.

Things could have been worse for Triton Central, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 77-63 loss to Heritage Christian in their previous matchup back in November of 2024. Can Triton Central avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
