Recap: Carroll Cougars vs. Delphi Community Oracles
The Carroll Cougars came tearing into Friday's match with nine straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 26 points) and they left with even more momentum. They took their match at home with ease, bagging a 70-39 victory over Delphi Community. Carroll has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten matches by 23 points or more this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Carroll to victory, but perhaps none more so than Alli Harness, who scored 22 points along with three steals. Harness hasn't dropped below 15points for seven straight games. Another player making a difference was Madison Wagner, who scored nine points along with 14 rebounds and seven assists.
Despite the loss, Delphi Community still got an impressive performance from Jenna Roth, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Lacey Pickering, who scored seven points along with three steals.
Carroll's win was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 15-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.1 points per game. As for Delphi Community, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-7.
Carroll will head out on the road to face off against McCutcheon at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. McCutcheon will be looking to extend their current 11-game winning streak. Delphi Community won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Peru at 1:30 p.m. on January 6th. Peru is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
