Basketball Recap: Chowchilla Triumphs

Chowchilla hadn't done well against Washington Union recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Chowchilla Tribe secured a 37-33 W over the Washington Union Panthers. This was payback for the Tribe, who suffered a 38-36 loss the last time these two teams met.

Despite the defeat, Washington Union had strong showings from Kaleia Brown, who posted six points and 13 rebounds, and Jade Holland, who had ten points and four steals.

The win made it two in a row for Chowchilla and bumps their season record up to 5-2. As for Washington Union, their loss was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-6.

Chowchilla will head out to challenge Kerman at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Kerman will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something Chowchilla surely won't give up without a fight. As for Washington Union, they will be taking part in a tournament against Mendota at 1:00 p.m. on Friday.
