Cerritos came into Friday's matchup looking for another win against Pioneer, but Aryanna Reyes wouldn't allow it. The Pioneer Titans slipped by the Cerritos Dons 59-58 on Friday thanks in part to Reyes, who went 5 of 11 on her way to 15 points in addition to five boards and three steals. She has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last eight times she's played.

The team also got some help courtesy of Daysia Almendarez, who posted 12 points and five rebounds. That's the most points she has posted since back in January of 2024.

Pioneer is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a massive bump to their 6-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.3 points per game. As for Cerritos, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-13.

Pioneer wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 54-37 win against Bishop's on the 11th. As for Cerritos, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 53-39 loss against Rosary Academy on the 11th.
