Basketball Game Preview: Pilibos Eagles vs. Milken Wildcats

The Pilibos Eagles and the Milken Wildcats will face off at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday without much rest having both just played. Pilibos is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.6 points per game this season.

Pilibos is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Milken just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 48-45. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Eagles have suffered since December 5, 2023.

Despite the loss, Pilibos got top-tier performance from Nanar Shahinian, who shot 5-for-6 from long range and almost dropped a double-double on 21 points and nine rebounds. The dominant performance gave Shahinian a new career-high in boards. Suzy Topchyan was another key player, putting up nine points and eight rebounds.

Even though they lost, Pilibos smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in seven consecutive games.

The victory was the third in a row for Milken, bringing their record for this year to 9-11. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.0 points per game. As for Pilibos, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-10.
