Soccer Game Preview: Johansen vs. Central Valley

The Johansen Vikings will head out to face off against the Central Valley Hawks at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Johansen comes in on three and Central Valley on eight.

Last Tuesday, Johansen earned a 3-1 win over Lathrop.

Meanwhile, Central Valley kept a clean sheet against Livingston on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 3-0 margin over Wolves. Considering the Hawks have won six matchups by more than two goals this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Central Valley's victory was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-1-1. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 25 goals over those seven games. As for Johansen, their win bumped their record up to 6-2-3.

Johansen came up short against Central Valley in their previous meeting back in November of 2021, falling 3-1. Can Johansen avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
