Football Recap: Cheney Starts Season with Defeat on the Road

Cheney had to start their season on the road on Friday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They fell just short of the Holcomb Longhorns by a score of 15-13. The Cardinals were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Longhorns apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Among those leading the charge was Cooper Cranston, who rushed for 110 yards, and also threw for 86 yards and two touchdowns. Those 110 rushing yards gave him a new career-high.

Cheney didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 38-0 win against Kingman on the 12th. As for Holcomb, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 50-6 victory against Cimarron on the 12th.
