Basketball Recap: Exeter Township Comes Up Short

Exeter Township was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They took a blow against the Wyomissing Spartans, falling 64-26. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 530th, while the Spartans are ranked 89th).

Amaya Stewart continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Wyomissing, almost dropping a double-double on 19 points and nine boards. Stewart is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last six games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Alexis Hardy, who made all 5 shots she took for 12 points.

Exeter Township's defeat dropped their record down to 2-13. As for Wyomissing, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 19-3.

Exeter Township does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Wyomissing, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Oley Valley at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Wyomissing will be looking to keep their 22-game home win streak dating back to last season alive.
