Baseball Game Preview: Cairo Syrupmakers vs. Peach County Trojans

For the second straight game, Cairo will face off against Peach County. Cairo will be playing in front of their home fans against Peach County at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Cairo is on a four-game streak of home wins, Peach County a six-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season), meaning someone's leaving a streak behind.

Cairo is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Peach County just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 9-5 to the Trojans.

For Peach County's part, Zion Hudson was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-3. Hudson is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last 12 games he's played. Another player making a difference was Xavion Childs, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

Peach County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .576. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .571 or higher in three consecutive games.

Cairo's loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 6-1 and their overall record down to 8-7. As for Peach County, their win bumped their record up to 19-2.
