Softball Game Preview: Wheeler County Bulldogs vs. Appling County Pirates

The Wheeler County Bulldogs will challenge the Appling County Pirates at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Wheeler County sitting on three straight victories and Appling County on four (dating back to last season).

Wheeler County will bounce into Wednesday's contest after beating Wilcox County, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. The Bulldogs put the hurt on the Patriots with a sharp 10-2 win on Tuesday. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three games by six runs or more this season.

Meanwhile, Appling County got themselves on the board against Ware County on Tuesday, but Ware County never followed suit. They blew past the Gators 8-0.

Appling County's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Wheeler County, their win bumped their record up to 3-1.

Wheeler County couldn't quite get it done against Appling County when the teams last played back in August of 2017 as they fell 7-3. Can the Bulldogs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
