Baseball Recap: Tallulah Falls Picks Up Fifth Straight Win on the Road

Tallulah Falls waltzed into their match on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Hilton Head Prep Dolphins, sneaking past 5-3. That's two games straight that the Indians have won by exactly two runs.

Cole Bonitatibus looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits.

At the plate, Ashton Roache and Diego Gonzalez did most of the damage at the plate: Roache scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances, while Gonzalez scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Tallulah Falls' win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-7. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.4 runs over those games. As for Hilton Head Prep, their defeat ended a nine-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 19-2.

Looking ahead, Tallulah Falls will head out to face off against Hilton Head Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Eagles' pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so the Indians' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Hilton Head Prep, they will be playing in front of their home fans against St. Francis at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Knights have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.52 runs per game on average), something the Dolphins will no doubt try to take advantage of.
