Football Recap: Yates Center Comes Up Short

Friday just wasn't the day for Yates Center's offense. They were beaten by the Lyndon Tigers 48-0 on Friday. The Wildcats haven't had much luck with the Tigers recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Gavin Busteed threw for 30 yards on three of eight attempts. On the ground, Marcus Cummings rushed for 44 yards.

James Marcotte continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Lyndon, rushing for 154 yards and three scores, while also catching one TD. Marcotte was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 54 yards. Another player making a difference was Lucas Griffin, who rushed for 49 yards and one touchdown.

Yates Center's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Lyndon, the win keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.

Yates Center has already played their next matchup, a 71-42 loss against Flinthills on the 24th. As for Lyndon, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 52-6 victory against Northern Heights on the 24th.
