Baseball Game Preview: Drew vs. Midtown Knights

Drew will face off against the Midtown Knights at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Drew has struggled recently with 27 defeats in a row, while Midtown will arrive with four straight victories.

Drew fell victim to Mays and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They lost 15-0 to the Raiders.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Midtown). They put the hurt on Creekside with a sharp 17-7 win on Tuesday. Considering the Knights have won eight games by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Lyndon Wiilliams was a standout: he scored four runs and stole three bases while going 4-for-4. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylor Goldstein, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Midtown was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .562. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .308 or higher in four consecutive matches.

Drew's loss dropped their record down to 0-15. As for Midtown, their victory bumped their record up to 14-5.
