Basketball Recap: Waynesburg Central Raiders vs. Yough Cougars
The Waynesburg Central Raiders can now show off 12 landslide victories after their most recent match on Thursday. They blew past Yough, posting a 49-19 victory at home. The win was familiar territory for Waynesburg Central who now have ten in a row.
Avery Davis went supernova for Waynesburg Central, scoring 15 points along with five rebounds and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Peyton Cowell, who scored seven points along with eight rebounds.
Waynesburg Central pushed their record up to 18-1 with that victory, which was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.7 points per game. As for Yough, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-10.
Waynesburg Central will be playing in front of their home fans against the Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Yough's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Highlanders on February 5th. McGuffey is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
