Heritage Christian typically has all the answers at home, but on Saturday Byers proved too difficult a challenge. They came out on top against the Heritage Christian Eagles by a score of 46-38. The win was familiar territory for the Bulldogs, who have now won three matches in a row.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Byers to victory, but perhaps none more so than Cameron Eastwood, who to rack up 12 points and five boards. The team also got some help courtesy of James Maes, who posted 12 points.
Byers was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Heritage Christian only seven assists.
Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Samuel Hanson, who on his way to 17 points. Those 17 points gave Hanson a new career-high. Alec Lundy was another key player, putting up eight points and three steals.
Byers' record is now 16-4. As for Heritage Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-6.
Coming up, Byers will host Burlington at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Byers is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57.3 points per game this season. As for Heritage Christian, it'll be a Battle of the Birds when the Eagles face off against the Hawks at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
