Tigers climb to top spot after Michelle Carew Classic shakes up rankings.

For the first time this season, there is a new No. 1 team in the MaxPreps Top 25 high school softball rankings.

Katy (Texas) replaces Pacifica (Garden Grove, Calif.) at the top spot after the Mariners dropped two games at the Michelle Carew Classic in Southern California. Pacific drops 11 spots to No. 12.

The Tigers have outscored their opponents 88-1 over the past six games. Overall, the Lone Star State's top team is averaging over nine runs per game while allowing 10 runs in 27 games. They've held 20 teams scoreless. Arkansas commit Cameryn Harrison, junior LSU commit Lauryn Soeken and Ella-Kate Smith, one of the top pitchers in the Class of 2026, lead arguably the best pitching staff in the country.

Bartow (Fla.) has won 27 games straight dating back to 2023. Florida signee Katelynn Oxley, sophomore Ryleigh Knowlton and freshman Brooklyn Tyson have given up eight earned runs all season. The Yellow Jackets moved to No. 2 this week.

Another Florida team on the rise is Bloomingdale (Valrico, Fla.). The Bulls jump into the rankings for the first time after an impressive 12-0 start. UCLA commit Natalie Cable is 11-0 in the circle with a 0.58 ERA and 168 strikeouts in 72 innings. She is also a .462 hitter with five home runs.

Saint Francis (Mountain View, Calif.) took over as the top Golden State squad after an impressive 4-0 record at the Michelle Carew Classic. The Lancers were awarded co-champions with Norco (Calif.) as rain wiped out what could have been an epic showdown. And while Pacifica fell to No. 12 overall, but the Mariners are still in contention for a national title. Orange Lutheran (Orange, Calif.), despite a loss last week, jumps to No. 6. The Lancers can compete with anyone when left-handed ace Brianne Weiss is in the circle. The Golden State will see lots of movement as we close out spring, as it's loaded with solid teams.
