Soccer Recap: Larchmont Charter Victorious

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Larchmont Charter had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. While the 2-2 score might suggest a draw, it was the Larchmont Charter Timberwolves who were credited with the win. The Larchmont Charter Timberwolves got it done in the shootout by posting four goals to the Van Nuys Wolves's two. Even though the Timberwolves got in a bit of trouble with the refs ( Ada Travis was handed a red card), the team managed to overcome the adversity.

Melany Castillo and Estelle Temple scored both of Larchmont Charter's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 20 goals.

The victory (which was Larchmont Charter's fourth in a row) raised their record to 11-7. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 26 goals over those four matchups. As for Van Nuys, their loss dropped their record down to 8-6.

Coming up, Larchmont Charter is taking a road trip to take on Garfield at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Van Nuys does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
