Baseball Game Preview: Sumter County Panthers vs. Shaw Raiders

The Sumter County Panthers will venture away from home to face off against the Shaw Raiders at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Sumter County comes in still looking for their first win of the season.

Sumter County is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They fell just short of Monroe by a score of 16-15 on Friday. Even though they lost, the Panthers' still made a splash at the plate and bumped their average scoring up to 7.2 runs per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).

Sumter County got a massive performance out of Jordan Minter, who scored two runs and stole four bases while going 1-for-4. Those four stolen bases gave Minter a new career-high. Nolan Minter was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, it was close, but on Saturday Shaw sidestepped Eufaula for an 8-7 victory. The Raiders haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Shaw's victory bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Sumter County, their loss dropped their record down to 0-4.
