Basketball Recap: Lula Kifle's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Vacaville over Wood

If Vacaville was feeling good fresh off their 81-57 takedown of River City last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Vacaville Bulldogs took a 48-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wood Wildcats on Thursday. The Bulldogs were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Wildcats earlier this season, when they won 46-41.

Vacaville lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Lula Kifle, who posted 12 points and three steals. Another player making a difference was Gianna L?pez, who earned ten points and six rebounds.

Leading Wood to victory were Amiyah Murry and Mikyah Dixon. Murry dropped a double-double with 15 points and 13 boards, while Dixon put up 13 points and six rebounds. Murry continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Nateyah Ebuen, who scored three points and six boards.

Vacaville's defeat dropped their record down to 9-14. As for Wood, their victory bumped their record up to 11-17.

As of now, neither Vacaville nor Wood have any future games scheduled.
