Volleyball Recap: Oak Ridge Comes Up Short

Oak Ridge was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Anderson County Mavericks. The Wildcats were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Mavericks earlier this season, when they won 3-2.

Oak Ridge took Anderson County into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking four-point loss. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-0, 25-0, 25-27, 10-0, 11-15.

Oak Ridge's loss dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Anderson County, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-7.

Oak Ridge didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Westminster on the 13th. As for Anderson County, they will host Hardin Valley Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
