Baseball Game Preview: Marshwood Hawks vs. Kennebunk Rams

The Marshwood Hawks are taking a road trip to take on the Kennebunk Rams at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Kennebunk took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Marshwood, who comes in off a win.

Marshwood proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by ten) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They never let Biddeford get on the board and left with a 1-0 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Hawks have posted since May 29, 2025.

Sawyer Reimels tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out six over six innings pitched. Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

Meanwhile, Kennebunk fell victim to South Portland and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Red Riots. The Rams just can't catch a break and have now endured four defeats in a row.

Kennebunk saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Noah Burnham, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

Marshwood's win bumped their record up to 4-10. As for Kennebunk, their loss dropped their record down to 5-9.

Marshwood got the 'W' when the teams last played back in May of 2025 against Kennebunk by a conclusive 11-2 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Hawks since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
