Softball Recap: Sonoraville Triumphs

While Sonoraville's win against Calhoun wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Phoenix sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-1 victory over the Yellow Jackets on Tuesday. The Phoenix haven't had any issues with the Yellow Jackets recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Sonoraville got a great performance from Lila Mullinax as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out nine over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts Mullinax has posted since back in October of 2024.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Cadence Mulkey, who went 2-for-3 with four stolen bases and two runs.

Sonoraville's victory bumped their record up to 2-0.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sonoraville will take on LaFayette at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Calhoun, they will take on North Murray in a tournament on Friday.
