Baseball Game Preview: Washington-Liberty Generals vs. Yorktown Patriots

Washington-Liberty is 0-10 against Yorktown since April of 2019 but things could change on Monday. The Generals will head out to face off against the Patriots at 6:30 p.m. The last six games Washington-Liberty has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

On Wednesday, Washington-Liberty needed a bit of extra time to put away Langley. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Saxons 6-5. The victory continues a trend for the Generals in their matchups with the Saxons: they've now won three in a row.

Alex Frymoyer was incredible, getting on base in four of his six plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Hank Thomson was another key player, going 1-for-5 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Meanwhile, Yorktown came up short against Herndon on Thursday and fell 5-2.

Yorktown has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-5 record this season. As for Washington-Liberty, their record now sits at 15-8.

Washington-Liberty couldn't quite finish off Yorktown in their previous matchup back in April and fell 4-2. Can the Generals avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
