Baseball Recap: St. Anne-Pacelli Picks Up Fifth Straight Win on the Road

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when St. Anne-Pacelli and Jordan meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Thursday. The St. Anne-Pacelli Vikings never let the Jordan Red Jackets get on the board and left with a 13-0 win. With that victory, the Vikings brought their scoring average up to 6.4 runs per game.

St. Anne-Pacelli got a great performance from Austin Danison as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only a hit while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. The dominant performance gave Danison a new career-low in hits.

On the hitting side, Jaycob Veloz was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Braden Hudson, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

St. Anne-Pacelli always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .529. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

St. Anne-Pacelli's win was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for Jordan, their loss ended an eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 5-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Anne-Pacelli will square off against First Presbyterian Day at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. First Presbyterian Day will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something St. Anne-Pacelli surely won't give up without a fight. As for Jordan, they will challenge Kendrick at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Jordan is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8 runs per game this season.
