Baseball Game Preview: Reavis Rams vs. Saint Ignatius College Prep Wolfpack

The Reavis Rams will face off against the Saint Ignatius College Prep Wolfpack at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Friday just wasn't the day for Reavis' offense. They came up short against St. Rita on Friday, falling 11-0. The loss continues a trend for the Rams in their meetings with the Mustangs: they've now lost five in a row.

Meanwhile, Saint Ignatius College Prep got the win against Brooks on Tuesday by a conclusive 9-1. Considering the Wolfpack have won 13 matchups by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Ryan Sexton tossed a big game, tossing 5.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Quinn Wiedelman was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Reid Hites, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Saint Ignatius College Prep is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a massive bump to their 21-11 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Reavis, their defeat dropped their record down to 22-12.
