Recap: Pioneer Titans vs. Pacifica Christian/Orange County Tritons
After a string of four wins, the Pioneer Titans's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 56-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of Pacifica Christian/Orange County. While losing is never fun, Pioneer can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 346th, while Pacifica Christian/Orange County is ranked 102nd).
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Pacifica Christian/Orange County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Lauryn Ham, who scored 23 points along with three steals. Those 23 points set a new season-high mark for her. Alexia Valencia was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with five steals.
Pioneer has fallen quite a ways from their 20-7 record last season and are now at 4-11. As for Pacifica Christian/Orange County, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 15-2.
