Basketball Game Preview: Biggs Wolverines vs. Williams Yellowjackets

Biggs has gone a perfect 10-0 against Williams recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Biggs Wolverines will look to defend their home court against the Williams Yellowjackets at 5:00 p.m. The timing is sure in Biggs' favor as the squad sits on seven straight wins at home while Williams has been banged up by 14 consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season.

Biggs is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing Maxwell: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Biggs blew Maxwell out of the water with a 58-13 final score. The Wolverines have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matchups by 21 points or more this season.

Biggs relied on the efforts of Anna Carothers, who posted 20 points in addition to seven steals and five assists, and Allie Little, who went 8-for-9 en route to 16 points and five rebounds. Carothers is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least four every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Alice Rayburn, who had four points along with five assists and four steals.

They weren't the only ones working in the assist department: Biggs was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in November of 2024.

Meanwhile, Williams played a tough contest on Wednesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 79-21 loss at the hands of Portola. The Yellowjackets were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 54-14.

Biggs will need to focus on slowing down Giselle Torres Salazar, one of several Williams players who made an impact when they last played. She earned six points.

Biggs is on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 17 games, which provided a nice bump to their 19-5 record this season. As for Williams, their loss dropped their record down to 0-20.

Biggs took their win against Williams in their previous meeting back in January by a conclusive 46-20. Will Biggs repeat their success, or does Williams have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
