Softball Preview: Lumpkin County Indians vs. Dawson County Tigers
Lumpkin County has won five straight games at home, while Dawson County has won five straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Tuesday. The Indians will welcome the Tigers at 4:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
On Monday, Lumpkin County made easy work of Chestatee and carried off a 10-1 win.
Meanwhile, Dawson County hadn't done well against Pickens recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Tigers' pitcher stepped up to hand the Dragons an 8-0 shutout.
Not much got past Kylee Pulley, who gave up just three hits to keep Pickens off the board.
On the hitting side, Kaelyn Utech was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games she's played. Lilly Hamilton was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one double.
Lumpkin County's victory bumped their record up to 18-8. As for Dawson County, their win bumped their record up to 19-7.
