Softball Recap: George Washington Takes a Loss

George Washington had lost eight straight at home, but on Friday they dropped down to 5-15 to make it nine. They came up short against the Northfield Nighthawks, falling 16-1. Having soared to a lofty 21 runs in the game before, the Patriots couldn't push the score so high this time.

As for Northfield, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 15-5. The result was nothing new for the Nighthawks, who have now won 14 contests by nine runs or more so far this season.

For Northfield's part, they got a massive performance out of Ricki Ramirez, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Audrina Srichabok, who went 1-for-2 with four RBI and two runs.

George Washington wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 17-1 defeat against Vista PEAK Prep on the 7th. As for Northfield, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 14-4 victory against Fairview on the 4th.
