Soccer Game Preview: Public Safety Academy vs. Cornerstone Christian

Public Safety Academy hasn't had much luck against Cornerstone Christian recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Public Safety Academy Phoenix will host the Cornerstone Christian Crusaders at 3:00 p.m. Public Safety Academy will be strutting in after a victory while Cornerstone Christian will be coming in after a loss.

Having struggled with three defeats in a row, Public Safety Academy turned things around against Norton Science & Language Academy on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Rockets by a score of 3-1.

Meanwhile, while it was all tied up 2-2 at halftime, Cornerstone Christian was not quite San Jacinto Valley Academy's equal in the second half on Tuesday. They fell just short of Wolves by a score of 3-2. The Crusaders' loss signaled the end of their eight-game winning streak.

Aleena Gutierrez and Sonoma Miller scored both of Cornerstone Christian's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 38 goals.

Cornerstone Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 8-3-2. As for Public Safety Academy, their win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-5-1 and their overall record up to 4-6-1.

Public Safety Academy might still be hurting after the 11-1 loss they got from Cornerstone Christian in their previous meeting on January 13th. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Public Safety Academy was down 9-0.
