Football Recap: Silverado Skates Past Sunrise Mountain with Ease + How To Watch

Silverado won the last time they faced Sunrise Mountain and things went their way on Friday too. The Skyhawks claimed a resounding 54-6 victory over the Miners. The Skyhawks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by 22 points or more this season.

Silverado's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Marek Piekarski, who threw for 150 yards and three touchdowns. Those three passing touchdowns gave Piekarski a new career-high. Jaxton Seward also helped out with an impressive 97 receiving yards.

Silverado's run defense was locked in: Sunrise Mountain could only muster 2.8 yards per carry. The team can thank Josiah Rodriguez for the heroic effort on defense: he. Silverado didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 11.5.

Silverado's defense didn't let the opposing QB, get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for four sacks. In that department, Brandon Belyeu was the leader with three. He is on a roll when it comes to sacks, as he's now posted at least one in each of the last four games he's played. Silverado got some further help from Jonah Alipio: he picked up a sack and made five total tackles (3.0 for loss).

The victory was the fifth in a row for Silverado, bringing their record up to 7-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 46.4 points over those games. As for Sunrise Mountain, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.
