Football Recap: Flinthills Takes a Loss

Flinthills and Sylvan-Lucas squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Flinthills had to settle for second. They were outmatched by Sylvan-Lucas and fell 62-14. While losing is never fun, Flinthills can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas football rankings (they are ranked 57th, while Sylvan-Lucas is ranked ninth).

When it comes to explaining why Flinthills lost, don't look at Beau Hall. Despite the final result, he rushed for 162 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.5 yards per carry. Hall showed off some serious burst, turning on the afterburners on one carry for 54 yards.

Flinthills' defeat dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Sylvan-Lucas, they pushed their record up to 9-1 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home.

Flinthills does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Sylvan-Lucas, they will take on Little River on Friday. The Mustangs will need to watch out since the Redskins have now posted at least 31 points in their last four contests.
