Softball Recap: Middle Park Takes a Loss

Middle Park was the 15-4 winner over Englewood when they last played one another back in October of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Panthers came up short against the Pirates on Saturday, falling 16-4. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Middle Park saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Raquel Ruiz, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run. Ayla Opsahl also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

Middle Park's loss dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Englewood, they moved to 6-9 with that win, which also ended their six-game losing streak.

Coming up, Middle Park will welcome Arvada at 11:30 p.m. on Saturday. The Panthers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bulldogs have averaged an impressive 14.6 runs per game this season. As for Englewood, they will take on Centaurus at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
