Basketball Recap: Make It Seven in a Row for Tehachapi

Tehachapi put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They secured a 38-34 W over the Monache Marauders. The 38-point effort marked the Warriors' lowest-scoring matchup of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Leading Tehachapi to victory were Riley Walden and Koree Rodden. Walden posted 16 points, while Rodden almost dropped a double-double on nine points and ten rebounds. Walden's evening made it eight games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points.

Despite the loss, Monache still got an impressive performance from Milly Rojas, who had 16 points in addition to six steals and five boards. Rojas is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 16 or more in the last seven games she's played. Another player making a difference was Danika Sanchez, who put up four points.

Tehachapi's win bumped their record up to 7-0. As for Monache, with the loss, they broke their eight-game winning streak and moved their record to 8-2.

Tehachapi will take on Rosamond in a holiday battle at at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Monache and Clovis will compete for holiday cheer at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Clovis will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something Monache surely won't give up without a fight.
