Recap: York County Tech Spartans vs. Millersburg Indians

If the York County Tech Spartans were riding high off their 50-28 takedown of the Newport Buffaloes last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. York County Tech's tough 69-47 defeat to Millersburg on Saturday might stick with them for a while. While losing is never fun, York County Tech can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 566th, while Millersburg is ranked 211th).

Le'Icessess Harrison and Anna Foster certainly did their best on Saturday to try and avoid the loss. Harrison scored 16 points along with three steals, while Foster scored 17 points. That was a full 34% of York County Tech's points, marking the fifth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.

Emma Miller continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Millersburg, dropping a double-double on 19 points and 17 rebounds. Miller is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last 14 games she's played. Another player making a difference was Raegan Hale, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds.

York County Tech bumped their record down to 5-11 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Millersburg, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. York County Tech will square off against Hanover at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hanover comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Millersburg, they will head out on the road to challenge Saint Joseph's Catholic Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Saint Joseph's Catholic Academy is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
