Soccer Game Preview: Rio Americano vs. Vista del Lago

Rio Americano and Vista del Lago are an even 3-3-4 against one another since April of 2021, but likely not for long. The Rio Americano Raiders will take on the Vista del Lago Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Vista del Lago took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Rio Americano, who comes in off a win.

Rio Americano is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. They came out on top against Christian Brothers by a score of 2-0 on Thursday. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded the Raiders with their most commanding win of the season.

Gabbi Ross was the driving force of Rio Americano's attack as she scored both of Rio Americano's goals, bringing her season total up to two goals.

Meanwhile, Vista del Lago entered their contest against Bella Vista on Thursday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. Vista del Lago fell just short of Bella Vista by a score of 1-0. The game was a 0-0 toss-up at halftime, but the Eagles couldn't quite close it out.

Rio Americano now has a winning record of 3-2-2. As for Vista del Lago, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 4-4-1.

Rio Americano beat Vista del Lago by a goal in their previous meeting last Friday, winning 1-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Rio Americano since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
