Football Game Preview: Sun Valley Spartans vs. Cuthbertson Cavaliers + How To Watch

The Sun Valley Spartans will face off against the Cuthbertson Cavaliers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

On Friday, Sun Valley lost to Weddington on the road by a 21-6 margin. The contest marked the Spartans' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Cuthbertson). They strolled past Piedmont with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 23-8. The Cavaliers haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.

Sun Valley better keep an eye on Mason Iovino. He was instrumental in Cuthbertson's win, rushing for 177 yards and three TDs while picking up 7.7 yards per carry. Iovino is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 110 every time he's taken the field this season.

Sun Valley dropped their record down to 2-3 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Cuthbertson, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.

Sun Valley barely slipped by Cuthbertson in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, winning 14-13. Will the Spartans repeat their success, or do the Cavaliers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
